Narcissistic Friday: Me Myself About Social Media. Again.

It used to be that Wednesday was a great day to talk about yourself.

That is soooo last quarter.

Now it’s Friday.

Last week I had the pleasure to be interviewed by Cornelius Fichtner on the legendary Project Management Podcast. Yes, yes. It was about social media:

“Bas argues that social media will help you personally by growing your visibility within the worldwide community of project managers and he also argues that social media helps your worldwide, virtual project team to grow together faster and deliver better projects.”

You can listen to the audio interview here.

On the same topic…

During the PMI EMEA Congress a month ago I was interviewed by the friendly and inspiring Luis Garcia of the PMI – IT & Telecom SIG’s Podcast. About my favorite topic: Project Shrink. :)

Have a great weekend.

  1. Your social MEDIA FORMAT – VIDEO or AUDIO interviews are extremely boring, as full of unnecesarry intro’s and takes much more time to watch than to read text!! It takes some time for people who speak to convert a idea into words while having interviews, so its much lamer than video presentation, and why do I have to use my time for listening and watching all the pauses and gimmicks!! You should just become an actor instead of pretending to care for project management. I do not find any other explanation of NOT USING GOOD OLD TEXT or presentation at least!!!!

  2. Hi Rytis, I am sorry that you don’t like multi-media format, but I do hope that you like the 80% written content on the site.

Thanks for raising the question about why using audio and video: I personally think it would not be a good thing if you are discussing social media and leave out one important aspect like video. I am discussing virtual teaming and video is a big tool in this context, so I just have to use it to experiment and show what is meant.

Some people like to see a face with a message, and I guess, some don’t. :)

Anyway, I’ll try to keep intro’s shorter.

    Cheers
    Bas
